"Architects have always been able to see how their buildings look, we allow them to see how they work..."

Buildings are the single largest contributor to global warming worldwide. In the United States, commercial and residential buildings account for 65% of electricity consumption, and 36% of energy use.

Currently building energy optimization for LEED certification is performed on a largely prescriptive basis. However, research done by the New Building Institute for the USGBC shows significant variation in measured energy efficiency as compared to the prescriptive model.

Multiphysics techniques are better suited to producing more energy efficient buildings using a holistic approach to design where actual work and living space geometries, building materials, HVAC and other mechanical elements, and exterior environmental factors can be incorporated into the analysis. This type of analysis is the path toward truly climate-responsive design, and the launchpad for net zero energy smart buildings.

Koba Industries, Inc. can perform building efficiency analysis, applicable to LEED standards and certification that utilizes multiphysics platforms to characterize a building's macro envelope performance.

Based on its location, three-dimensional geometry, construction material properties, heat and energy loads due to use and occupancy, and external conditions such as solar heat gain and convective heat loads due to prevailing winds, Koba Industries, Inc. can provide visual and quantitative information detailing the path toward optimal configurations for energy efficiency, and LEED certification.

Increase energy efficiency - utilize natural convection, passive, and hybrid heating and cooling schemes.

Reduce waste - optimize building materials and minimize use.

Save money - reduce operations and maintenance.

Improve safety - predict the flow of pollutants, toxins, fire and smoke through an interior space.
